Construction of the refractive index profiles for few-mode planar optical waveguides

We present a nondestructive technique to predict the refractive index profiles of isotropic planar waveguides, on which a thin gold film is deposited to as the cladding. The negative dielectric constant of the metal results in significant differences of effective indices between TE and TM modes. The two polarized modes and a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) with abundant information of the surface index can be used to construct the refractive index profiles of single-mode and two-mode waveguides at a fixed wavelength.     

LEGENDRE SERIES SOLUTIONS FOR TIME-VARIATION DYNAMICS

In this topic, a new approach to the analysis of time-variation dynamics is proposed by use of Legendre series expansion and Legendre integral operator matrix. The theoretical basis for effective solution of time-variation dynamics is therefore established, which is beneficial to further research of time-variation science. Visualization of spontaneous aggregates by diblock poly(styrene)‐b‐poly(L‐lactide)/poly(D‐lactide) pairs in solution with new fluorescent CdSe quantum dot labels

Spontaneous stereocomplex aggregation of diblock poly(styrene)‐b‐poly(L ‐lactide) PS‐b‐PLLA/poly(D ‐lactide) PDLA pairs has been investigated under ambient temperature in tetrahydrofuran solution. First, diblock PS₂₆₀‐b‐PLLA₁₆₅ and PS₂₆₀‐b‐PDLA₁₆₂ bearing similar lengths of respective PLLA and PDLA blocks were synthesized through controlled atom‐transfer radical polymerization of styrene, and a subsequent living ring‐opening polymerization of optically pure lactides, and their structures were further characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and gel‐permeation chromatography (GPC). Subsequently, new enantiomeric poly(D ‐lactide) stabilized core‐shell fluorescent CdSe quantum dots (CdSe/PDLA QD) were designed and prepared as sensitive fluorescence labels to shed new lights on the spontaneous stereocomplex aggregation in THF, which was mediated by stereocomplexation of the PLLA and PDLA chains. Upon simply mixing two individual THF solution of diblock PS₂₆₀‐b‐PLLA₁₆₅ and HO‐PDLA₃₀‐SH, spontaneous stereocomplex aggregation was studied, and the aggregated uniform spherical particles were observed by scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) to exhibit average particle diameters of 2.0 μm. Finally, utilizing the prepared CdSe/PDLA QDs as new fluorescent labels, morphologies of the spontaneous aggregates by new diblock PS₂₆₀‐b‐PLLA₁₆₅/HO‐PDLA₃₀‐SH pair were for the first time directly visualized by a confocal laser scanning fluorescence microscopy (CLSFM). These results might suggest alternative ways to simply prepare functional fluorescent particles with tunable diameter sizes and would be helpful to understand the mechanism of stereocomplex particle aggregation. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. MOCVD激光诱导选择原子层外延(LALE)生长室的研究

本文对MOCVD激光诱导选择原子层外延进行了研究,设计并制作了一种激光诱导原子层外延生长室结构,该系统能实现低温MOCVD生产,可形成稳定的层流,易于生长均匀的外延层,通过激光诱导可实现选择性的原子层外延.     

Cr,Tm:YAG晶体中的能量转移

通过对Cr:YAG、Tm:YAG和Cr,Tm:YAG晶体吸收光谱和发射光谱的比较,研究了Cr,Tm:YAG晶体中的能量转移过程.指出Cr3+→Tm3+能量转移过程中,无辐射能量转移占绝对优势.

Quasinilpotent Operators in Operator Lie Algebras

It is proved that the nilpotent Lie algebra generated by a family of decomposable operators generates an Engel- Banach algebra. We also proved that if a Lie algebra of quasinilpotent operators is essentially nilpotent, then the Banach algebra generated by this Lie algebra consists of quasinilpotent operators.
